Tucked away in a Queensland backyard sits another HSV SE—an interesting find that supports a theory I’ve been developing based on information gathered about these models.
It seems the SEs were offered with full HSV badging, and that word—offered—is key.
SE 207, which holds the second-highest build number on my current list, features HSV stickers on the rear quarters and the corporate badge. What sets these apart from the usual eBay kits is their accuracy: they match the original decals found on the 1993 HSV models.
This detail leads me to believe that only the red SEs may have had this as an available option. If that’s true, it could explain why SE 82 has a HSV badge on the steering wheel.
There’s still more to uncover, and I’ll keep digging.
As for SE 207 herself—she’s currently sitting in a Queensland backyard, covered in moss, with a busted gearbox. Whether she’s destined to be restored or scrapped remains to be seen.
